FAIRY TAILS by Kathi Dugan
A young fairy, dressed in ballet slippers, sits in attendance to the Blue Bird's tall tales and pointless chatter. Except for the fact that he puts a new spin on every story, she has heard it all before! She is amused by his creative ability of aggrandizement and his seemingly cluelessness to the fact that nobody really believes him. But he is fun and she loves him. The little blue-gray Gnatcatcher has also flown in to join the entertainment and complete the trio of friends. Blue Bird is particularly animated today, for he is aware of a possibly larger audience than usual. That audience includes you and the trio is hoping that you will stop, relax a moment and share in the merriment!
The original photo used for this painting was one of my granddaughter, dressed and waiting for her ballet performance in Dance Workshop of Hanover's Spring Recital. Sitting among the steel, she seemed to glow in her costume. I knew for years that I wanted to use this photo but it was only in January of 2015 that the full idea for the painting finally came together.
Acrylic on Gesso Board.
Original is still available. If you are interested please contact the artist.
If you would like a portrait of your loved one painted into a fantasy setting, please take a look at "Prices/ General Information" and feel free to contact the artist. The artist is happy to create commissioned pieces.
