Two calves were cuddled with their owners, dozing lightly in the summer heat at Marshfield Fair, Marshfield, Ma. The artist quickly discerned the opportunity for a new painting and whipped out her camera as quietly as possible. One cow seems to be lifting an eyebrow at the slight disturbance.
The painting won 2nd place in Marshfield Fair's Poster Contest the following year. Shortly after, it also received a request to be featured on a page in a in a local animal shelter's fundraising calendar, for which the artist was happy to oblige.
