A little mouse heads to his friend's Christmas Party, the door and welcome sign visible at the base of a tree trunk. Mr. Tree is in a "Bah Humbug!" spirit and he finds the decorative ornament hung on his branch to be very annoying!
This painting of a grumpy tree won a published spot in the Patriot Ledger's Christmas Holiday Art Competition (was it 2011?) but, unfortunately, not the cover!
Nonetheless, I have grown rather fond of this painting, as who hasn't had or doesn't have a beloved but sometimes crotchety older relative whom this tree well characterizes?
